Immigrant farmworkers organizing for a better future
Joint Statement
Together with the Workers’ Center of Central New York, we drafted an open statement addressed to the New York Farm Bureau, urging them to stand in solidarity with immigrant farmworker communities during these challenging times.
We also launched a petition calling on the New York Farm Bureau to take concrete actions to protect and support farmworkers. You can sign it here to help amplify our voice:
Essential Information About Avian Influenza for Farmworkers
This informative video, produced by Alianza Agrícola in collaboration with the Cornell Farmworker Program and the New York State Department of Health, provides essential information about avian influenza (H5N1) and how farmworkers can protect themselves in their daily work.
The Alianza Agrícola is a group led by and comprised of immigrant farmworkers in Western and Central New York.
The Alianza Agrícola is New York State’s only worker-founded, worker-led organized group of undocumented immigrant dairy farmworkers. We are membership based, and all members are directly affected undocumented immigrants, mostly from Mexico, who live and work in isolation and poverty on dairy farms in 5 Western New York counties.
