Supporting our community during COVID-19
We are essential.
Not disposable.
The spread of Covid and subsequent shut-down of New York State left many farmworkers, including Alianza members, isolated on their farms without reliable access to food, staples, and personal protective equipment.
Throughout 2020, Alianza Agricola organized to address the short-term and long-term needs of farmworkers in New York.
“Farmworkers are considered essential, and yet we are left out of government support.
— Alma Patty Tzalain, member of the Alianza Agrícola Gabinete and author of an April 2020 op-ed in the New York Times
